Alaskans want us to know the truth about Sarah Palin.
I'm also wondering why no one seems to have picked up on how Obama praised Biden during the debate and McCain said nothing about his soul, uh, er, running mate.
I predict she'll quit w/in the next 24 hours.

I don't think so Sandy. I will not be at all surprised if she has some disaster that will cause her to miss Thursday debate or perhaps have to be in another location with telefeed so that she can use teleprompter with proper answer. She missed debates in Alaska.

Sure, there is the possibility that a "crisis" will pop up and delay the debate.
I'm not sure she'll make it past the October 10 legislative report.
I think the AP story will make it impossible for her to continue.
I stick by my prediction.
She'll be gone in 24 hours.
We'll see.

McCain did mention her as his running mate as, "another Maverick".

That was it. And ya really had to listen to pick it up, as McCain said it through clinched teeth and his pseudo smile.

I started a Sarah Palin Resignation Countdown Poll way back on Sept 1-- though my time-frame was optimistic, I think the momentum is coming back around...

I thought the whole idea of McCain tried to cancel the 1st debate is to cancel Palin's debate. Lets be honest, this VP debate is gonna be the 1st time public would pay so much attention on. I m sure there ll be more people watching than McCain-Obama debate.

It wouldnt surprise me if something comes up in the next few days so that she has 2 cancel the debate, judging by the previous dramatic twists and turns from the McCain campaign. I do want her to attend the debate tho, just so Tina Fey will have more skits to do. So when we grow old, we can tell our children how hilarious this election has been.People, lets just sit back n relax, just enjoy this best reality TV show ever. in the end, we should give McCain the first Oscar for screenplay of a reality show.

Sandy, My husband feels the same as you do. That she will either have a 'family emergency' and resign the campaign or that the debate will be cancelled because of a 'family emergency'. I hope not. I don't like SNL and so have never seen the Tina Fey comedy. Mrs Palin is funnier anyway. And she has the added benefit of helping Mr McCain loose the election.

Good comments, Barbara.
But what do you think?
Texans have the excellent example of Kay Bailey Hutchison.
Do you think Palin is of that caliber?

Sandy, As much as the politics and platform of our Senator Hutchison are anathema to me, I am convinced of several things. 1) She is from this planet. 2) If she were to have brain surgery, they would find one belonging to a homo sapien 3) If she had spoken an equal number of off point, silly comments while speaking to the media, she would not be a senator now nor be running for Governor next term.

Mrs Palin is so far below VP caliber, that she makes the likes of Spiro Agnew and Dan Quayle seem intelligent and capable in comparison.

McBarbie is not someone I'd want to run my local Bath & Body Works, much less a state.

I wonder if she'll be bounced off the ticket in favor of Lieberman?

I wonder too. Lieberman has been w/McCain more than Palin has.
Or so it seems.
They've been running around on the hill, trying to appear presidential.

Sandy... If she is bounced from the ticket I think the replacement will be Gov Pawlenty from Minnesota. They can't use the no foreign policy experience on him as he has made numerous trips abroad to promote trade for Minnesota. He has also been to Iraq a number of times to visit the Minnesota guard troops. His record fiscally is good as well. The only base he wouldn't appeal to is the religious right. But, at this point I don't know if that even matters anymore.

If Palin leaves the ticket, it will be the death blow to the McCain campaign. It will prove that he either has no control of his own campaign or that he made a poor decision. Either way, not very presidential.

But if he keeps Palin, he has her negatives to deal with. Like last week, McCain's painted himself into a corner.

"This report needs to be released. Not just for us ... it needs to be released for all those people in the Lower 48 who are going to make a decision on Nov. 4,"

I would think most independent and undecided voters, would like to read da report.

I think that Alaskans are upset because their government has been hijacked by the McCain/Palin campaign. Their government is being prevented from functioning as it should in terms of the legislative investigation into Palins' ethical abuses.
Today's AP investigation that revealed how Palin manipulated things while Mayor of Wasilla won't help.

There is nothing wrong with a practicing Jew as VP or President.

Lieberman, on the other hand, is an idiot... and not worthy of my vote.

i have no problem with a practicing jew in any capacity.. i do have big problems with someone who will ( in the service of the american people) put the interests of israel in from of the interests of his ( or her) constituents.

in general, it seems we do agree!@

I have to wonder about Sen. Lieberman's constituents in Connecticut.

While it's true that members of Congress serve the national interest above their local states... what do the people of Connecticut think about Lieberman travelling extensively with McCain, spending far more time whispering in the ear of the Republican nominee than he does acting on behalf of his constituents.

what do the people of Connecticut think about Lieberman

I seem to recall a story over the weekend or possibly on Friday that CT was looking into censuring Lieberman. I'll see if I can find the link and bring it back...

CT did hold a debate, but have decided to table the debate until Dec. 17, after the election. Maybe they are waiting to see if he winds up as McCain's VP (if he decides to do the Palin dump).

I think Palin is in this for the long haul. She is extremely ambitious, and she still has a lot of fans. I think she will use this as a stepping stone. Unfortunately, many of her rabid fans don't care one bit if she is qualified or not. They consider qualified if she has their radical views, her being one of us, and she is a mom. I mean, is it really important that she knows what the hell is going on with the world, with the economy? Nope, all that is important to them is her radical right views. I actually heard one fan say that what she liked most about Palin is that she wears skirts. May God help us all if this woman ever gets any further than Gov of Alaska.

You are right.
She is radical and apparently very intolerant.
Her "witch hunter" religious views should scare anyone who believes in the freedom of religion. We quit burning witches hundreds of years ago.
I still doubt she will debate. I think something will come up and she'll pull out or quit.

Sherry and Sandy, If she quits (or is forced to) it will be a serious indictment of Mr McCain's decision making abilities and may cost him the election. If she stays, she may cost him the election through sheer attrition. I don't think that there are THAT many stupid people who vote.

Either scenario works for me.

Great find, Sandy. There was a story a few days ago about the lawyer sent up by the McCain team is breaking the law in Alaska by being there and offering legal advice. But I haven't seen it picked up in the lower 48. All Alaskans are not happy with Palin, but the non-supporters are being sidelined.

Not only that, the Alaska Attorney General is supporting the suppression campaign by advising those subpoenaed to not testify.
Transparency?
She has lots to hide from the skeletons in her closet to her ignorance of national and international politics.
She should just suck it up, do the country a favor and quit.

This is an interesting opinion Sandy.

On another seed, I forgot which one now, but I asked Santame if they felt palin would be re-elected as governor up there. The answer was along the lines of "'oh yes, she is still very popular up here in Alaska and we have a very large Repubilcan base here."

Could you explain the difference in opinions? Just wondering.

It depends on who says she's popular?
The day she returned to Fairbanks, Alaskans were getting $3,200 in their bank accounts from the permanent fund. Of course they were cheering.
There are many who are scared to speak out against her because of things like "Troopergate" where she apparently uses her position and power to retaliate against her "enemies."
In fact, I think the McCain campaign hijacked the Alaskan government to stop "Troopergate" because of the link to Ted Steven's corruption trial.
After the AP investigation into Palin using her position to have a home rezoned prior to sale and taking gifts without disclosing them, well, they appear more alike than not.
I think there is going to be a huge shake up in Alaska and after the McCain/Palin campaign leaves, it will look more like a populist revolt.

Since the infamous Bridge was never built, should she not have to give that money back? Or am I confusing the different pockets of money?
